Rainbow Six Siege is temporarily trading tactical breaching for high-speed drone racing with Wasteland Circuit, a limited-time event running through October 13.
Set in an alternative post-apocalyptic timeline, Wasteland Circuit transforms Siege's familiar drone mechanics into a competitive racing mode. However, simply driving fast is not enough. Players can attack opponents, deploy traps, collect temporary advantages and use destructible environments to discover faster routes.

How Wasteland Circuit Races Work
Each match features 10 players competing across three races. Individual races continue until someone finishes or the five-minute timer expires.
Players control two-wheeled drones around modified versions of Oregon while collecting items and looking for opportunities to disrupt opponents.
Several offensive and defensive tools can dramatically change a race. EMP Shot can blind opponents and disable Pests, while Boom Shot creates knockback and can destroy certain environmental objects. Pest Trap can stop another racer, while Inferno Snare creates an area that prevents affected players from boosting.
Defensive tools such as System Recovery are equally important because they provide temporary protection and remove existing status effects.
The key is knowing when to use them. Spending an offensive item against a distant opponent may accomplish very little, while saving it for a narrow section of the track can completely change the race.
The Catch-Up System Keeps Every Position Competitive

Boost pickups become progressively stronger depending on race position:
- 1st place receives 25% boost.
- 2nd–4th receive 50%.
- 5th–7th receive 75%.
- 8th–10th receive 100%.
Lightning Generator stops every other racer for two seconds, Black Out Generator blinds opponents for three seconds, and Deathmark slows the player currently occupying first place.
This means falling behind does not necessarily end your chances of winning. In some situations, being near the back temporarily gives you access to stronger comeback tools.
Three Tracks Require Different Strategies
All three Wasteland Circuit tracks use heavily modified sections of Oregon, but they reward different approaches.
Ghost Town features longer straight sections and is relatively easy to navigate, placing greater emphasis on direct combat between racers.
Underbelly is shorter and deliberately chaotic. Because positions can change quickly, efficient item usage becomes particularly important.
Airplane Boneyard is longer and more technical, with greater emphasis on verticality and controlling the drone through complex turns.
Players should also watch for environmental elements such as Jump Pads, Gas Pipes and Barbed Wire.
Destructible walls and floors are particularly interesting because they bring a familiar Siege mechanic into racing. Learning where these surfaces are located can reveal shortcuts and alternative paths, meaning track knowledge may eventually become just as valuable as raw driving skill.
